We’re sad to report that there will be no Third Third Thursday celebration of original art this Thursday, June 16th. If you’re totally jonesing for your art fix, though, might we recommend you consider creating something yourself?
Lovers of art and intellectual exploration, freegans and spectacle-watchers alike are invited to participate in the second Third Third Thursday celebration of art Thursday March 17th, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. where we are proud to show for the first time the original consensual pornographic artwork and interactive Skywalker Paradigm rantings of Jack Eggers, the living god Ammon Ra. Attendees will experience the once-in-a-lifetime installation In Which the Artist is an Artist in Portland’s only home-turned-gallery-for-an-evening during this free event. Premium beer, non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks will also be provided free of charge.
Third Third Thursday is the brainchild of Darren Heiber, a self-described “petty provocateur, amateur artist and champion of intellectual freedom.” Hosting a gallery in his apartment for one evening every three months, or thereabouts, is at once a subtle jab at the national boom in art commoditization by local communities who use monthly art walks to create tourist-draws and recognition of the home-based artistic community thriving in Portland.

Oh man…we’re getting really excited about the 1st Third Third Thursday of 2011. The performance art/multimedia experience we have lined up is definitely going to mess with your mind.
Third Third Thursday June 17, 2010 — In Which the Artist Explores the Viscera of Print Media
Sorry, no blood…but the artist, Darren Heiber, excises as much material as possible from print news by targeting only a single type of content: original work, syndicated content or advertising.
Don’t forget to look at the rest of this set, below…
Did you miss the opening set? Sorry there aren’t more “action” shots…we hope to have some up soon. Thank you all for coming out, enjoying the art and each other.
See you in three!
Love the writeup:
In attempt to be funny and possibly a little condescending, Darren Heiber is opening up his apartment for a free art show installation entitled “In Which the Artist Explores the Viscera of Print News,” which is meant to fly in the face of the several different art walks/evenings that take place in Portland. It sounds intriguing. And also a bit creepy. Suggestion: bring a buddy, or eight.
Not much going on in this video, but figured it was time for a little teaser about tomorrow’s show In Which the Artist Explores the Viscera of Print News
We’re happy to provide Laurelwood Free Range Red Organic beer as well as other non-alcohol options. Light appetizers will also be available.
Yes…it’s all free.
Still not sure where you’re going to be be this Thursday? Now you do ;)
